HOW TO INSTALL - Single Knob Application

Step 1 Remove the loose knob

 

Step 2  Wrap a 1/2" diameter drill bit with masking tape. Locate the edge of the tape 1/2" from the end of the drill bit as a depth stop.

 

Step 3 Open the hole in the back panel of the door using the 1/2" drill bit.  Be careful to only drill to the depth of the masking tape marker.

Be sure to use safety glasses when operating the drill motor.

 

Step 4 Insert the nylon spacer through the hole in the back panel of the door. Insert the bolt through the busing and the hole in the front panel of the door.

 

Step 5 Reattach the door knob and tighten the bolt with a screwdriver.

Alternate Door Handle Applications:

If you have chosen to use a "Dummy Lever Knob" or similar application where more than one bolt is required to fasten the knob/lever, see examples below.

 

The installation process will require; 1) Locate and mark the 2 or 3 bolt hole locations on the front panel, 2) Using a 11/64" drill bit, drill a hole through both front and back door panels at each bolt location, 3) Follow steps 2, 3 & 4 above to open the hole up in the back panel and to insert the Knob Secure spacer, 4) If using a dummy lever knob use through bolts (Flat Head 8x32, 1 1/2" or 1 3/4"), inserting them from the front to the back and installing a metal washer and nut on the back side of the door, 5) If necessary, cut off the excess bolt length with a hacksaw and file the end of the bolt smooth.
